Over the past 50 years, hundreds of organizations have been made to support the Red Wold population. In addition, world-known foundations such as the NWF, National Geographic, and Defenders have made Red Wolves the top of their headlines.

Here is a list of the leading Canis Rufus-supporting organizations:

1. National Wildlife Federation (NWF)

Recent Activity: To combat the illegal hunting of red wolves in the wild, NWF together with its sponsors are offering a $33,000 reward to people who step-up and inform of any Red Wolf-incriminating information. For Example, if a certain hunting club was seen to hunt for the species, they will be fined and the informer - rewarded.

2. National Geographic

Recent Activity: On March 18, 2015 an article is published regarding the controversial topic of re-introducing Red Wolves. It raises awareness and brings forth important questions.

3. Defenders

Recent Activity: As quoted from their webpage: " Defenders had been working on Red Wolf recovery since the mid-1980s through a combination of advocacy and public education."

4. U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service

Recent Activity: Made an entire section on their website dedicated to Red Wolves. Participate in many activities and help raise public awareness all around the world.

5. Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium

Recent Activity: Being the first place where Canis Rufus captive breeding programs took place, Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium continue to research and track the Red Wolf population. Captive breeding programs still in progress.
